Neko Gear!

Well I happened to have been on the brand new Nekopolis sim today and ran into the owner, Darklour Wantanabe. First off let me say the sim itself look GREAT! You have the main Neko Gear shop located in the middle of the sim, below the gathering area/Club Area. Lots of place in the middle to kick back with your pals and relax or hit the dance area and turn it up a bit. Around the edge of teh sim are tons and tons of great shops! If it's Neko chances are they have a shop here. I spent a good hour and a half wandering the mall on my ever expanding quest for boots!

Now to the milk of it! the Neko Gear goods! Darklour was ever so kind enough to supply me with a good ample of his creations. Combat Boots, Board shorts, The slayers belt set, thermals set and a few t-shirts. Other products reviewed are on the word of a friend who gave me her little neko gear fashion show. Oh and let us not forget kind reader thet Darklour is kind enough to supply freebies for us! And not Junk freebies either, top of the line good shit! Albeit it is mostly women's fare but ah well. We all know the female is the big consumer of apparel on SL.

So on with the show, first and foremost we will start with NG's Combat boots. Total Prims 367, Standard black combat boots design with some unique touches on them a dagger on the calf of the left boot along with a few bullets strapped to the foot area. The right boot features a pair of dogtags hanging from the laces and sports a small pocket on the upper boot, for all those little things you need to hide from plain site..(NO thats not where my catnip stash is hidden!) The only downside to NG's combat boots are that for a male AV they are on the small side, but it took me maybe 2min to adjsut that so they looked a bit beefier on my male AV. On female av's they are just about perfect for those dainty little neko feet we know all you lovely neko girls have.

Next up are the NG Boardshorts and matching tops. I choose the blue with paw prints. The other choice would have been the life guard pair. First off these are sold separately, not a big deal clocking in at a modest 50 bucks each! (Another reason I love NG Darklour doesn't charge an arm tail and your first born for a high quality product). The textures on these are nicely done and the tops well even given my newb stature, I've noticed that many tank tops have an issue where front and back meet, never quite meshing up the way they should. Such is not the problem here, the front and back mesh perfectly at the top of the straps! the bottoms also well done nicely textured belt area with button. Overall for 50 bucks each you HAVE to love these!!! And Cats and Kitten these come in several layers. Bottoms come in pants and underpants, top comes in jacket, shirt, and undershirt layer.
And next we have the NG thermals set. Well basically I love Darklours Idea here! I've got a couple tee's that I thought you know what'd look great to round this out, a thermals undershirt for that layered look. And sure enough here we are with Neko Gear thermals in Every conceivable layer! Well textured with that thermals feel to them and as they are no copy you can adjust the color to your liking. And moderately priced at 100 lindens.
And last but not least we come to the NG Slayers Belt set. Now this is a pair of belts one for your waist and the other a leg strap. Both holding everything a good vampire slayer needs! The belt has a rope, UV flashlight, holy water flask, bible, garlic, some silver bullets, a cross belt buckle, and a cross hanging from the belt (Wonderful touches there). Now on tot he leg strap... We have a handful of nice pointy silver stakes with leather bound hand grips on them with inlayed crosses, the blunt end of each stake is adorned with a cross and finally more garlic hanging from the strap. So there we have the basics of this set for you slayers out there.. Now the down and dirty, these are really wonderfully crafted items, a lot of detail to each piece the leg strap fit my AV right out of the box with no adjustments and the belt itself only needed a slight adjustment to fit my waist. I'm betting if I was a female it would have been a perfect fit. Also Darklour makes 2 different sets of slayers boots, in black and brown along with scripted bits of slayer gear. All in all you cant' go wrong with this set if you're a vampire hunter. My only complaint is it's a little heavy on the garlic but that's a minor issue as a friend pointed out the belts are Mod so you can simply remove any bits you dislike. So while a bit pricey for those on a budget at 500 L it is WELL worth it if you are into the whole Buffy thing!
Finally general overall impressions. Neko Gear is a great store with reasonable prices, a very approachable owner on a great shopping sim with hangout spots. Check it out! http://nekogear.wordpress.com/

Welcome Cats, Kittens and other denizens of the web!

Welcome to my humble (well not so humble I am a neko after all!) little spot on the web dedicated to nekos and neko fashion, within the wonderful little joint we call Second Life or SL.. Or sometimes that damn laggy hell hole that pisses me the hell off!

Whats the purpose here, well simply to review and critique all the wonderful stuffs made by the content creators for us Nekos (and if you non-nekos peak thats ok too!) Now I'm not going to limit myself to JUST clothing. Oh no, no, no my fine felines! I'll be delving into clothing, accessories, furniture, vehicles, and of course skins as well as tails and ears. I will admit a bias at this point when it comes to ears and tails... I love Hybrid's stuff. Just do... Anywho!

Maybe a bit about myself here.. Not that it'll affect wether or not you like my opinons or not but... Lets see here, Age: late 30's, place of birth: Small town in the Midwest you ain't never heard of! Marital status: Divorced. Job: Armchair Pilot, due to disabilities (no I wont' tell don't' ask that's private) Hobbies: Reading, Movies I love movies!, Music I can play a guitar and a bass guitar, and computer games (currently addicted to Hellgate London, City of Heroes/Villains, WoW, Exteel, Shayia, and a web based game called Monsters Game and of course SL). Well that'll about do it for the introduction post here. Check back later for the first offical post and review of *drum roll* Tails and Ears!
